Care for ʻĀina Now

On a mission to restore Hawaiʻi’s biocultural resources, strengthen ʻāina resilience, and invest in community-led stewardship that builds a safer, more self-sustaining future for our islands.

Who We Are

Care for ʻĀina Now is a coalition of Hawaiʻi organizations, residents, businesses, and community groups dedicated to supporting durable and sustainable funding for environmental and climate solutions in Hawaiʻi.

In 2025, we took a step forward as a state by passing the first-of-its-kind visitor green fee in the nation into law. Act 96 is expected to generate ~$100 million a year.

What We Stand For

The passage of Hawaiʻi Green Fee presents a critical opportunity for tourism to contribute to a sustainable and resilient future for our home.

As an island community we are vulnerable to accelerating climate impacts - fires, floods, and hurricanes are all at our shorelines. We must meet the moment while we have time.

As a community-based coalition, we are amplifying the environmental needs across Hawaiʻi, and advocating for this fund to be implemented with intention, impact, and community guidance.
